Chinese is not an easy language but it is not too difficult to learn and you will most likely just need it to get around. I mostly use Chinese for buying food, getting bus and train tickets, and catching taxis. There will always be someone who can speak English even in the middle of a small tiny village.
Tones can be difficult not just to pronounce but to remember for each word. For instance; changing the tone of a single word can result in the change of definition of that word.
Pinyin is the official phonetic system for transcribing the sound of Chinese characters into Latin script in China, Taiwan, and Singapore. It is often used to teach Standard Chinese and spell Chinese names in foreign publications and may be used as an input method to enter Chinese characters into computers.
The pronuciation is difficult and is not to be spoken using your accent. Just because it looks like English doesn't mean you can speak it as if it is.
When studying Chinese teachers will start the class with drills of Pinyin.

Search for Jobs
Looking for a job in China? Then www.chinajobmap.com is for you. It is an interactive map of China so you can select the city you want to work in rather than having to screen all the jobs in China.
www.chinajobmap.com is not a job board where anyone can post a job, instead builds relationships with recruiters. Too many job boards allow mysterious and questionable recruiters who often change their names to post dubious jobs.
